Our mini bolga baskets are handmade in farming villages in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana and are perhaps the best known of all African baskets. They are woven from durable elephant grass Each purchase helps provide the farmers and weavers in the region with a sustainable way of living. We love seeing our designs come to life through the skill of our artisans.

Instructions:
Each basket will come unshaped. You will start by submerging the basket with warm water. Be sure to wet the whole surface. Allow the water to soak in. Allowing the water to completely soak in makes the basket very pliable. Let most of the excess water drain from the basket and place the basket down on a flat surface for shaping. Push out the basket and begin to hand mold the basket until you have achieved your desired shape. The entire shaping process takes just a few minutes. Allow basket to dry completely before use.
